| Song Artist - Title | Genre | Memory | Approximate Date of Memory |
|---|---|---|---|
| Above and Beyond - Alone Tonight | trance | Resting in bed one afternoon during freshman year of college, fall semester, in our bedroom with its single window and minimal light penetration. I was listening to this through a Compaq iPaq using GSPlayer. | 2006 |
| Accuface - Pure Energy | eurodance | Heard this for the first time via Radioseven Internet Radio when at a Webheads meeting in Senior year of high school, working on the Selinsgrove High School web site, in the cave known as Room 203 or Mrs. Gavitt's room. | 2005 |
| Adema - The Way You Like it | hard rock | Patio Picnic, 8th grade, 2002. Walking on the sidewalk behind the middle school listening to this through the aforementioned RCA MP3 player. A friend of the time named William asked what I was listening to, and commented how it seemed a bit "heavy" for my tastes. | 2002 |
| Alphaville - Forever Young | 80s pop | Sitting in Greunberg's english class in Selinsgrove High School Room 119 during Fall 2004, probably on the day before Thanksgiving/Christmas break, watching the movie Napoleon Dynamite (my first screening of this movie). This song comes on during the school dance scene. | 2004 |
| Andy prinz - lost inside the senses | trance | Sitting at my desk in my West River Wilkes-Barre apartment in afternoon before classes, in Spring semester 2010. | 2010 |
| Armin van Buuren - From the Heart | trance | Building The T-Bag (audio system in a backpack G-bag parody) in 2005 with Andrew. This song has good bass to it so I used it to test out the T-Bag's bass response. | 2005 |
| Baltimora - Tarzan Boy | 80s synthpop | Summer 2003, when we went to a KOA Campground in Maryland as part of a trip to visit the White House with the Boy Scout troop. I took along a CTX EzBook 800 computer running Windows 98 and recall vividly listening to this song on it. I had a cord which was a cigarette lighter plug on one end and a barrel plug for the laptop on the other. No electronics in between, I plugged this directly into the cigarette lighter in my dads Chevy Avalanche. The laptop wanted 19 volts, I gave it 14 +/- 3 and it seemed to work fine. A similar situation was seen later in the summmer, when I was using this exact laptop to offload pictures from our Kodak CX4230 Digital camera's whopping 16 MB of memory when we took a trip to the Oil Region of PA. | 2003 |
| Barenaked Ladies - Another Postcard | alt rock | School Bus, Spring 2001, in the Intermediate School parking lot waiting to leave, listening to this on an RCA Lyra II MP3 player, which was state-of-the-art at the time. | 2001 |
| Blessed Union of Souls - Hey Leonardo | alt rock | In the car, pre-2000, my mom was driving and we were on Route 204 going north just before the Mill Road/Penns Creek Bridge, and I recall the effect in the song of a CD being "fast forwarded and thought it was an actual error with the radio station's disc. | 1999 |
| Boston - Amanda | rock | July 2006, at my friend Amanda's graduation party in a church rec hall in New Berlin, PA, her dad played this song on a Sony boombox. It was about 6:00 in the evening on a Sunday, so the ambiance (sun low in the sky, yellowish colored light) which accompanies such time was all there as well. | 2006 |
| Breaking Benjamin - Polyamourous | alt rock | Freshman year of high school, at the first and last "SOFA Day" event, a band was playing this at the football field as I was sitting in the bleachers (the ones on the side toward the high school, as this was before they built the new stadium. I recall the singer's enthusiasm as he sang the lyrics. | 2003 |
| Chicane - Autumn Tactics | chillout | Fall 2010 after graduation when I was not on someone's time clock and was building a Part 15 AM Radio Station | 10/2010 |
| Coldplay - Viva La Vida | alt rock | Summer 2009 when working in the ASP Shop I would hear this song at least once a day. I remember vividly hearing it muffled through the block walls of the bathrooms as I cleaned them in the afternoons. The radio was some silver/blue boombox with detachable speakers that always sat in the maintenance area. | 2009 |
| Cyndi Lauper - Time after Time | pop | Reading about WTI (waste technologies incorporated) on the web, spring 2003, as odd as that may seem. | 2003 |
| Dave Matthews Band - Satellite, Yes - Owner of a Lonely heart | alt rock | A girl, Liza, brought this DMB song into 7th grade "Language Arts" class as part of an assignment. The teacher played it on an all-in-one boombox in the room "D-205" in Selinsgrove Middle School. In the same class period as mentioned above, the teacher herself brought in the Yes and played this song. | 2000 |
| Deep Forest - Sweet Lullaby | newage | The gray winter of 2008, testing it out on the speakers I found in the dumpster. I was somewhat inspired by this music at the time, as it prompted me to build the 2008 LM1875 Chipamp. | 2008 |
| DHT - Listen to your heart | dance | Driving home from high school, probably senior year, with Amanda | 2006 |
| Dido - Christmas Day | pop | Radio Show 12, as I was preparing for it I was playing this song on those curvy white JBL computer speakers we used to have. | 2004 |
| Digital Rockers - I Believe, Earthlan - The Fish The Umbrella | dance/newage | Fall Semester 2007, in 92 W. River, sitting at my desk at night, studying either circuits or calc. I remember distinctly the lighting of the room (by torchiere to my left with 23 watt 2700 K fluorescent bulb). | 2007 |
| Discotronic - Masterplan | dance/techno | Winter Break 2008-2009 when I built the first lighting controller, watching the lights to this music. Then having keggers during that crazy Spring Semester 2009 where people actually seemed to get into the techno beat. | 2009 |
| Dj Sammy - Boys of Summer, Cosmicman - Krystal Dreams, Nordic Stars - Crying in the Rain | trance | Driving to/from Selinsgrove/Wilkes-Barre on weekends during freshman year of college, these were played from a CD in my car radio. I see Many, Many rainy hours on Route 11 when these songs are played. | 2006 |
| Dj Sammy - Heaven | dance | At some point in 2002, in the neighbor's house, Amanda wanted this song on her personal web page. I had the "EasyHost" Perl CGI script installed at the time on the original CBLL.net server in the basement, and was accessing this at their house to upload the music file. | 2002 |
| DJ Schwede - Soldier of Fortune, Michelle Branch - Everywhere | mixed | Freshman year, fall semester. My roommate Dan played these songs from our "Musikmeister" media server that I had set up. | 2006 |
| Dj Sputnik - Africa | electronica | Summer 2006, after I got the HP Pavilion laptop, sitting in the basement with it set up on a card table along the wall where the baseboard heater is located. I was listening to this song through the Bose Companion speakers that came with the computer, remember thinking about how remarkable the bass was. | 2006 |
| Don Henley - End of the Innocence | rock | At Golden Corral (a now-closed restaurant) probably around 2000 sometime, sitting near the back on the place where the restrooms are located, hearing a piped-in instrumental version of this through one of those vintage wood-cased PA speakers that cartoons always depict in school classrooms. The speaker was on the wall right alongside the aluminum rain gutters they had running along the wall with fluorescent lights in them. | 2000 |
| Enigma - Good Bye Milky Way | newage | Freshman year, spring semester of college. In 92 W. River Apt. 2, at my desk typing a large paper about the Chemistry of Natural Waters for EES 202 - Biogeochemistry. | 2007 |
| Enrique Iglesias - Dont Turn off the Lights (Spanish Version) | pop | Senior year of high school, when we would listen to nearly the whole album every day in Spanish class as we worked on those damned children's books. | 2006 |
| Flo Rida - Hands in the Ayer | hiphop | My first visit to Wilkes-Barre Hardware Bar in Fall 2008 when I went there with a friend Brandon. I knew nothing about bars and was disgusted with the $3 bottles of Yuengling Lager. I had 4 of 'em and that was enough. This song came on and I thought it was so funny, how they say "Ayer". | 2008 |
| Fontains of Wayne - Stacys Mom | alt rock | No real distinct memories, but an image of sitting in a car in the Selinsgrove High School student parking lot, facing Broad Street, is brought up. Probably heard this many times during Fall 2005. | 2005 |
| Foreigner - Blinded By The Light, Bottle Rockets - Radar Gun | rock | In my friend Andrew's garage, doing something with his car. It was during that rainy summer of 2006 and we were listening to this through a beat up old Craig boombox with a coat hanger antenna, paint splashed all over, and broken tape deck doors. It may have been right after college orientation during those horrible floods and torrential rains. This was when we finally assembled the fiberglassing table. | 2006 |
| Green Day - Minority | alt rock | It was June 2002, and I was sitting at the desk in the dining room using the Compaq 7471. The air conditioner was running and I could feel its air blowing. I made a massively-sized Flash "Intro" for cbll.myip.org with this song as the background music and a shareware program called SWiSH to create it. | 2002 |
| Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek (Tiesto In Search of Sunrise Remix) | electronica | Winter Break 2009, when I went to Williamsport to meet up with a guy named Zak. He said this was his favorite song. | 2009 |
| Jennifer Hudson - Spotlight | pop | This conjures images of being in the living room of 518 S. Garner Street, State College, PA. during summer 2009, playing through a Panasonic stereo connected to my lapop through a 3.5 mm to RCA converter. I arrived and Luke and I listened to this song (among others) and got amped up before we went to the bar. | 2009 |
| John 00 Flemming vs. Simple Minds - Belfast Trance | trance | Freshman year of college, sitting in the darkened room listening to this through headphones, with my desk facing the back of the apartment. It was a Thursday night, September 21 2006. We had a set of multi-colored christmas lights in the room which produced a reddish ambiance. | 2006 |
| Kate Ryan - Libertine | dance | I had this in my car CD player the first time that Luke came to wilkes-barre and it came on when we got back from going to Twist, right as I was parking on West River Street. He mentioned how he had a roommate who would always work out and dance to the song | 2009 |
| Lil Mo - Superwoman | hiphop | July 11, 2001. My neighbor Amanda invited her friend Lauren over to her house and since Lauren liked this song, I obtained it and played it out by the trampoline via the "Soundwagon" - a Radio Flyer wagon with a karaoke machine, portable CD player, carboard speaker box with 2 vintage 8-inch speakers, and 6 volt lead-acid battery to power it all. | 2001 |
| Linkin Park - Runaway | rock | Summer 2001 when I made a few tapes for my friend Andrew way back in the Napster days. I recall sitting there on a really hot day, with a karaoke machine connected to the old Compaq 7471 with a tape to record music from MP3s. | 2001 |
| Love-X-Press - Cosmic Dancer | trance | In Ocean City, MD, in 2004 on a trip there with family. I recall being in the car as we drove on the main strip in that town, listening to this on a Compaq iPaq. | 8/1/2004 |
| Natalie Imbruglia - Torn | pop | Probably summer of 1998 or 1999, I had a setup beind my parents' house right where the deck steps off to where the garden used to be and I was pulping up newspapers to make home-made paper. I had a little GPX single-deck boombox out there, plugged into the outside electrical outlet through a 9-foot brown extension cord. It was tuned to 94 KX, and this song played. | 1998 |

| Paul van Dyk - Wir sind Wir | electronica | Sitting on the recliner in my parents' living room, just opened my HP laptop and got some stuff loaded onto it. I played the song "Wir Sind Wir" and was quite impressed by the laptop's built-in speakers. | 2006 |
| Ryan Carbrera - On the Way Down | pop | In the car to/from high school. The most vivid memories are on the way TO school on Airport Road when it comes to images produced by this song, as my neighbor Amanda would play it quite often. | 2005 |
| S. Zeilenga - In Medias Res | chillout | Summer 2008, in the basement I heard this through internet radio and was startled by how the beginning fires up the mind. | 2008 |

| Scott Brown - Elysium, Tillmann Uhrmacher - On the Run | trance | Sitting in the basement of my parents house, at the big computer desk during Summer 2008 at night. The desk was oriented along the front wall of the house in the corner towards the end of the street, right under the window. I was trading music with a guy named James, he sent me these songs. | 2008 |
| Sting - fields of gold | rock | Probably 1997, sleeping in our "Club House" made from pallets one summer night. My neighbor Eric's Emerson all-in-one stereo was tuned to 94 KX on low volume, and I recall this song playing and looking through the cracks in the pallets at the moon and clear sky. The backlight on the stereo LCD display had a soft orange color to it. | 1997 |
| Tatu - All the Things She Said | pop | Winter 2003, in the little "office" room in the basement messing with old computer parts. I installed an ancient network card in a computer, one that used RG-58 coaxial cable and BNC connectors instead of twisted pair RJ-45 ethernet cables used today. I tested it by playing internet radio and this was the song that was on. | 2003 |
| The Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch | electronica | Summer 2001, in the basement one afternoon with Amanda and Derek, building stuff and/or making videos. The thought of this also brings back memories of many, many hot glue burns. We consumed many sticks of hot glue in 2001. | 2001 |

| Vanessa Carlton - White Houses | pop | Driving to the barber shop, maybe September 2004, during a torrential rain storm. | 2004 |
| Watergate - Heart of Asia, Chicane - Saltwater | trance | College orientation. These bring back vivid images of having no idea where I was going trying to get out of W-B, off the Cross-Valley, and onto Route 81, and being on Route 81, driving home, sitting in the traffic. There was an ominous humidity and feeling of bad weather coming, which was in fact the case. | 6/27/2006 |
