Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion - Thermodynamic Analysis
The ability of ocean water temperature differences and other low-temperature gradients in generating electricity.
Notice - December 14, 2011: This article is currently undergoing revision due to poor assumptions in some of the calculations - particularly in the overstatement of the energy required to pump water and an understatement of the efficiencies achievable with organic Rankine cycles. It is being re-worked with new calculations and considerations of the viability of ocean thermal and other low-gradient electricity generation technologies.
